Businesses and residents in the West of England are being called upon to take urgent action on reducing emissions, adapting to a changing climate and supporting nature recovery.

Regional political leaders and environmental stakeholders are committed to working together to engage and support the region in accelerate action on this agenda. The West of England region is full of organisations, individuals and businesses carrying out crucial environmental work but coming together will be the key to making a real difference.

Local residents, businesses and government need to take tough decisions, together, to combat the severe impacts of the climate and ecological crises. Collaboration is fundamental to achieving the region’s ambition to reach net zero with nature in recovery. The Panel acknowledges the need for everyone in the region to be equipped with the information and understanding of how to make the big choices necessary to reduce emissions, prepare for climate change and protect our ecosystem.

Effective engagement underpins this approach and requires broad buy-in, and collaboration across key regional stakeholders. As a collective voice in the region, the Climate and Nature Action Panel will run extensive communication with the public from September 2023.

This collaborative approach will allow for information, expertise and actions to be shared when working towards our crucial climate and ecological goals. To best reach the public we need local businesses to work with us and each other.
